Spinel is the New Black

18ct yellow gold handmade cushion cut cabochon Black Spinel and Diamond set ladies Cocktail ring.I have been looking at this cushion cut black spinel for a couple of months, and it finally clicked with me that it was the perfect stone for this design, based on cushion cut shapes I have in my wedding ring.The high cabochon Black Spinel gave me an extra dimension in height to be more sculptural with the cushion shapes leading unto the centre stone. And the black of the Spinel gives the piece a real focus.
