Here is a remodel of a ring I made about 14 years ago, the main setting is worn and it would need a new setting edge. The client wanted to remodel the Heart shaped Pink Sapphire rather than repair it. She wanted a more modern look and gave me a lot of freedom in the new design.Her choice was to use rose gold with the pink sapphire, I suggested to use platinum with the rose gold as a contrast and highlight the sapphire. I have lifted the stone and opened up the setting so you can see more of the Sapphire. As you can see the new design gives new life to a beautiful gemstone.
