This gorgeous Orange Hessonite Garnet was purchased during a trip to Sri Lanka. It is large emerald cut stone with deep reds and flashing golden highlights.
This emerald cut gemstone is approximately 8.50 carats, measuring 13mm x 11.2mm and is set into a Art Deco inspired platinum ring.
The client brief was for a cocktail sized ring with a demi-fine look, one that could be worn easily from day to night in a classic design.
The garnet is set relatively high at 8.5mm, with angled corner claws, that are engraved with vertical lines. The claws sweep down into a curved pear shaped feature nestled into a reverse taper band.
The ring began as a bespoke hand carved wax, cast to a solid platinum setting, then polished to the glossy white shine that only platinum can offer.
