A client arrived with a 9ct white gold bangle that she had made a few years ago. Unfortunately, the concept of the drop set coloured gemstones didn’t work the way she had imagined.
The setting style created a pillow effect between the stones meaning they became lost within the bangle. The client wanted to remove the gemstones and suggested a complete restart; However, I felt the bangle was well made and instead, suggested we redefine the bangle to bring back the colour and life I could see in each stone. By filing out sections of the pillows and using the lines to highlight the individuality of each gem I created movement that flowed between the stones which reinvigorated the original design.
